According to reliable sources, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin announced yesterday’s seven cross-party framework proposals is the outcome of joint efforts by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul and DAP Damansara MP Tony Pua and DAP Bangi MP Ong Kian Meng.
The agreement was reached after several rounds of their secret meetings with a view to carry out parliamentary and institutional reforms.
The source pointed out that the negotiations were believed to have been authorized by the top DAP leadership as they finally reached agreement to carry out the reform commitments.
According to the same source, Muhyiddin made an announcement yesterday at the request of the DAP to show his sincerity for reform.
However, the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council issued a statement the same night, announcing that it rejected Muhyiddin’s proposal and urged him to resign.
