Penang a failed state under Lim Guan Eng
1. Since Lim Guan Eng became the Chief Minister of Penang, there have been many issues affecting the state government with respect to incompetent financial management, high cost of living, minimum affordable housing and various mega scandals such as the billion ringgit undersea tunnel project.
2. Not only that, due to the critical and dire situation of the state finances, the Penang state government under Lim Guan Eng has irresponsibly raised assessment, quit rent, parking, and water rates. All this has further strained the finances of ordinary Penang folks.
3. Not only that, businessmen have also not been spared by the state government. In the last three years, Lim Guan Eng had increased the penalties for housing developers in lieu of afforable housing projects and increased fines for various municipal offences. This in return created enormous pressure on businessman to maintain their business in the state.
4. The most irresponsible action taken by Lim Guan Eng in Penang until today is by selling most of the state land to developers. The Penang government has sold or traded away state land, land rights and assets worth RM 37 Billion since the day DAP took over Penang. No state government in Malaysia has acted like DAP before.
5. Besides selling state owned land, land rights and assets, due to the incompetency of the state government under Lim Guan Eng, the Penang Transport Masterplan Project cost has now skyrocketed to RM 46 Billion compared to RM 27 Billion previously. This in turn resulted a loss of RM 19 Billion of the peoples money.
6. Finally, even after selling state owned land, land rights and assets, Lim Guan Eng still needs to possibly borrow money from China to make up the RM 19 Billion gap in funding for the Penang Transport Masterplan Project.
7. The people of Penang have been screwed by Lim Guan Eng for the past 10 years and its time for us to kick Lim Guan Eng and DAP out of Penang forever. Penang have now become a failed state because of Lim Guan Eng and DAP's sheer incompetence!
